Does Intermittent Fasting Live Up To The Hype?

......YES!

To those that may be unfamiliar with Intermittent Fasting, it's a plan where you follow specific eating and fasting windows. There's many different intermittent fasting plans that a individual can follow. The most common plan is a fasting window of 16 hours followed by a eating window of 8 hours. Most peoples' eating window will be 12-8pm. This is the easiest plan to follow for most people because it includes lunch and dinner. They simply skip breakfast and then pick back up at lunch.

I've personally found that intermittent fasting allows for more flexible dieting. When following intermittent fasting i'm usually eating two large meals per day and a small protein filled snack between my two meals. So even thought I'm eating less meals, the quality of my meals have improved drastically. I'm eating filling meals that I can feel good about after.

So lets get into some of the benefits of Intermittent fasting.


1) Levels of Human Growth Hormone skyrocket. (This leads to increased fat loss and increased muscle gain)

2) Insulin levels drop which make stubborn belly fat more accessible.

3) Improves metabolic rate

4) Users have experienced less muscle loss compared to traditional calorie restrictive diets

5) SUSTAINABLE (Simply put there's no point in following a diet that sucks the joy out of life and can't be sustained over time)


Personal Tips/Tricks for Intermittent Fasting:


1) Drink lots of water during the fasting window. (Can still drink water, black coffee, and green tea)

2) Drink carbonated water if you find yourself extra hungry during your fasting window. (Carbonated water will make you feel full)

3) Eat your last meal of the day as close to 8pm as you can. (This will help you feel less hungry in the morning as you're waiting for your eating window to reopen)

4) Drink water 10-15 minutes before your 1st meal of the day. This has helped me avoid stomach cramps and digestive issues.
